Cleaning and Clearing Out
This is a great time of year to begin to clean out your closets and cabinets and reorganize. It’s such a good feeling when you finish and open the door and see that everything is where it should be. It’s also great for finding things you thought were long-lost. The tough part is to keep it organized. I do this reorganizating often, and tell myself that this time I will keep it up–but usually down the road, things start getting put into places they shouldn’t be put. But, again I say, this time “I WILL KEEP IT ORGANIZED!”…….
Springtime will be a good time to plant those flowers around the entrance to your home–this always sets a happy tone for anyone who comes to visit–plus, yourself, as you come and go on a daily basis…..Never underestimate the impact of bright, clean, organized and cheerful surroundings.
You are really missing out on a quicker sale by not putting a small investment (compared to the actual cost of the property) into staging your vacant property. On my website are several photos of a recently staged vacant home. The difference and ambiance are amazing (See “Portfolio”) just by adding the ‘right staging furnishings.’ And, in most cases, the cost of staging a property is much less than your first ‘price reduction.’ Think about it!
Sellers Must Disassociate Themselves from their Homes
It has been found that after living in a home for more than 2 years, it is almost impossible to “objectively” view the space and our sentimental belongings from a buyer’s perspective and thus spend your staging budget wisely.
The elements of the home that may have annoyed us originally, we no longer notice. Our homes become like our children: we are filled with memories and emotions about the home and our belongings, so that objectively altering them to fit a buyer’s perspective becomes nearly impossible to do ourselves!
That’s why it is important to get a professional home stager to help you look at your home with ‘buyer’s eyes’ so that you attract buyers and offers in the current tough real estate market.
